So basically the Supreme Court, in their ever-knowing wisdom of all things conservatively true, basically said that the 2nd Amendment protects the right of an individual to carry a gun. Yay. Here is a situation that could plausibly happen.
- I walk down the street and trip on a curb since I’m a clumsy bastard.
- I fall into someones lawn.
- This person comes out with his or her now offically legal right to carry a gun and shoots me.
- In court, the person argues that I was “trespassing” and he or she had the right to defend themselves and their property.
- They get off on self-defense.
Oh joy. There is a logical difference between people having a right and people having the logical and mature responsibility to that right. I can’t wait for the Court to realize this…especially with something that was freaking designed to kill.
